It seems that Same-Sex Marriage (Two males getting married, vice-versa.) has been in conversations everywhere lately. As of August 19, 2013, fifteen countries and parts of Mexico and the U.S. have allowed Same-Sex Marriages to take place. I've decided to list some celebrities who are either against, or with Same-Sex Marriages. I hope you enjoy, if you do, leave a comment!
I understand some of you are quite young, so if there is language in some of these, they will be replaced with a blank.
NOTE: Please refrain from arguing with your peers. You are entitled to your opinion, but do not criticize another's opinion. Thank you!
Celebrities who do not agree with Same-Sex Marriages;
1.) Paris Hilton - Paris is a famous Actress, Singer, and owns the Hilton Hotels. According to resources, the heiress told the press; "Gay guys are the horniest people in the world...they're disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS." Soon after, Hilton apologized, saying this:
"I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families,Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know."
2.) Mel Gibson - In 1991, Gibson told the Spanish newspaper, El Pais this: “With this look, who’s going to think I’m gay? I don’t lend myself to that type of confusion. Do I look like a homosexual? Do I talk like them? Do I move like them?” I find this ironic, as Gibson's brother is gay himself! His brother told the press although, that he was not bothered by his brother's homophobic remarks.
3.) Tracy Morgan - Morgan, famous comedian and actor, called Gay's _____ and said if his son ever turned gay, he should not talk to him in a gay voice or he'll stab him to death. Taking it a bit to far, aye Tracy?
4.) WARNING: This post brings religion into the question, YOU are entitled to what you believe in. Please don't get upset.
Donna Summer - This 70's Disco Queen told the press this; “I’ve seen the evil homosexuality come out of you people… AIDS is the result of your sins. Now don’t get me wrong; God loves you. But not the way you are now.”
5.) Ronald Reagan - Former U.S. President called Gay people "sick unfortunates"
Now for celebrities who DO support Gay Rights and Marriages;
NOTE: These were all posted June 26, 2013. The day DOMA was brought down.
1.) Russel Brand - The now 38 year old actor tweeted this : If you're gay married in California your gay marriage is now legal. Good.#allmarriageisabitgay
2.) Lady Gaga - Gaga posted the same day; We stand tall today.#DomaStruckDown So many fought for so long. Be proud, the prejudice are now the minority.
3.) Nick Jonas - We are all equal and have the right to love. So proud to be an American. #equality
I really hope you all enjoyed. The world would be so much better if we could all agree, but we have to face reality. There is always going to be someone who has a different opinion on life.
